Educational Programs for Schools of the PMO-GATE Project have started

Published on 21/12/2020 (last modified 02/01/2021)

Despite the difficult sanitary situation, we have realized three online conferences for and with the students of the secondary Institute IS Copernico Carpeggiani of Ferrara.

The engineers of Consorzio di Bonifica Pianura di Ferrara, the geologists of the Civil Protection Agency of the Municipality of Ferrara and the researchers of the University of Ferrara (Department of Engineering) have explained to the students the hydraulic features of the Ferrara area and introduced the topic of hydraulic risk.

The classes II D, II H and II L of IS Copernico Carpeggiani participated in the activities, while the CHIA class of the IS Bassa Friulana have been hosted as special guest.

In total, we have reached about 100 students.

All the conferences have been managed and presented by the students of the school:

- For II D: Piero Gnudi, Tommaso Pilati, Leonardo Poluzzi.

- For the II H: Lucia Ferri, Emy Vecchiatini, Alex Bonaguro, Cristian Bonaguro, Alessandro Carletti, Matteo Fantinati, Matteo Tani, Daniele Zaghi.

- For II L: Anna Valentini, Alessio Bergamini, Eros Carli, Simone Toffano.

The slides produced and the video recordings of the meetings are communication products of the PMO-GATE Project.

The PMO-GATE Project gratefully thanks the IS Copernico Carpeggiani (the students, the School Director Dott. Francesco Borciani, and Professors Laura Sensi, Federica Orsatti, Lamberto Previati) and the Consorzio di Bonifica Pianura di Ferrara (the General Manager Eng. Mauro Monti and Eng. Laura Montanari, Marco Volpin, Gianluca Forlani) for the precious collaboration.
