A brief summary of PEPSEA Kick-of-Meeting

Lead partner Zadar County development agency ZADRA NOVA held the opening press conference of PEPSEA Project on 20-21 May 2019. 

The project is part of the Priority Axis 2 "Safety and resilience" and its main objective regards the protection of the sea and coastal areas from pollution generated by the sea traffic and other human mairitime activities, through the development of an adequate and timely response system for events of incidental sea pollution in enclosed parts of the Adriatic sea. 

The PEPSEA system will be a customizable model with an approach that will cover all three different phases of the incident (before, during, after) and will be transferable and applicable in all other EPSs in Adriatic Region.

The Consortium counts 8 partners from Italy and Croatia: Lead Partners is Zadar County Development Agency ZADRA NOVA, togheter with Consortium for the Future of Research (CFR), Adriatic training and research centre for accidental marine pollution preparedness and response (ATRAC), Split-Dalmatia County - Department for Tourism and Maritime Affairs, Sibenik-Kinin County, Environmental Protection Agency of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Po Delta Veneto Regional Park and Aicai Special Agency of Bari Chamber of Commerce.

The project was started in January 2019, will last 30 months, until the end of June 2021.
