Adriatic area will get an innovative response system for most endangered parts of sea with strong and original planning and applicative solutions. Detailed contingency plans will examine EPSs in order to define risks, needed approaches and equipment. For application of plans in case of incident, new technological solution will be developed that is adjusted to EPS’ features affecting the pollution delimiting and cleaning. Project will produce following outputs: adequate and timely approach for responding to sea pollution risk and incidents in EPSs based on detailed contingency plans; developed and tested technological solution and equipment for response in phases; training programmes for response teams and awareness campaigns for considerate use of sea.

ATRAC’s main goal, through continuously monitoring all the activities related to prevention, preparedness and response to accidental marine pollution in the whole Adriatic-Ionian region, is to improve cross-border cooperation and communication, so as to prevent the risk of oil spills and manage the crisis situation resulting in marine pollution.

The Po Delta Regional Park in Veneto was established by Regione Veneto in 1997. It extends in the province of Rovigo and includes the territory between the river Adige and Po di Goro. The Po Delta of Veneto stretches out for 786 square kilometers, the Park protected area covers 130 square kilometers. Today its task is protect, preserve and revive the history and nature of this territory, becoming its guardians.
