The University of Ferrara as the LP and the University of Trieste as the partner of the project NET4mPLASTIC "New Technologies for macro and Microplastic Detection and Analysis in the Adriatic Basin" approved in the framework of the 1st Call for proposal for the Standard projects, are organizing jointly the Kick off meeting and the 1st steering Committee meeting that will take place on 22th of March at the premises of University of Trieste - Piazzale Europa 1, Sala Atti Cacciaguerra.

A harmonized sampling and extraction procedure will be used to gain knowledge on Microplastics accumulation in different environmental contexts in four macro-pilot areas (identified according to their geomorphological characteristics), providing a systematic comparison on levels of Microplastics on beaches, marine environment and biota at both a regional/local scale.
 
The Kick off meeting will launch the project activities implementation and represents the moment for the partnership to introduce their organizations and discuss the activity plan per each of the project work packages. Furthermore, the Steering Committee will appoint the Project Management Unit members and define the partners roles and responsibilities.
