MONI. CA Student Exchange in Padua was a success!
01/10/2024
The first part of the International Student Exchange program under the MONI. CA project successfully took place from September 27th to 29th at the Eduforma headquarters in Padua. Eighteen enthusiastic students—8 from Italy and 10 from Croatia—joined this unique experience, bringing together diverse academic backgrounds such as informatic engineering, environmental science, and biology.
The exchange was designed to deepen students' understanding of the innovative technologies for air quality monitoring, which is the central focus of the MONI. CA project. This event not only allowed STEM students from Italian and Croatian universities to connect and share their expertise but also provided a deeper dive into the cutting-edge solutions being developed by the project.
Throughout these three days, participants attended workshops on the objectives of the MONI. CA project, held by Professor Martin Žagar (RIT Croatia) and Dr. Davide Destro (Eduforma), and learned about the project's advanced environmental monitoring technologies, including the use of gliders, drones, and sensors. Additionally, students attended a lecture by Professor Vanja Vejzagic (RIT Croatia) on financial sustainable management, precisely on how to find a common language for technical and business participants in projects bringing financing into the right hands.
Finally, they had the opportunity to witness a live drone test flight, offering a hands-on approach to understanding the project’s applications.
An exciting element of this event was the kick-off of a hackathon activity aiming at the development of new innovative solutions, which will be then completed in the second part of the Student Exchange in Zagreb, where students were divided into groups to collaborate on new innovative solutions related to the MONI. CA project’s theme.
The diverse academic backgrounds of the students played a crucial role in fostering new ideas and perspectives. This mix of expertise enabled a broader exchange of knowledge and creativity, encouraging fresh and diverse approaches to understanding and advancing air quality monitoring technologies. The blend of disciplines brought together under the MONI. CA project enriched discussions and sparked innovative solutions that could only arise from such a multidisciplinary environment.
The exchange program continues to inspire and facilitate cross-border collaboration, enhancing both educational growth and technological innovation.
Stay tuned for more updates on the second half of this enriching student exchange!
