Sense route of Istria heritage

On Tuesday, October 5th , 2021 in the Educational Gastronomic Center of Istria on Gortanov Brijeg near Pazin was held Presentation of the final activities (act 5.1.-Crash courses) of the European project "MADE IN-LAND: Sustainable management of rural areas", implemented by AZRRI - Agency for Rural Development of Istria d.o.o. Pazin.

AZRRI's pilot activity was the development of a tourist itinerary called "Sense route of Istria heritage", which includes public and private sector stakeholders from the cities of Buzet, Pazin and Vodnjan, and the municipalities of Žminj and Svetvinčenat, who participate in the pilot testing of the said itinerary. As part of this project activity, an Action Plan for the tourist valorization of the interior of Istria was prepared. During the event, the participants were introduced to the Cross-border Area Strategy of the MADE IN-LAND project, as well as the Action Plan of pilot activities and functionality, and the dissemination of software and application results developed as part of one of the project activities. In addition to the presentation of the Cross-Border Strategy of the MADE IN-LAND project, a presentation was held on the topic: "Innovative vision of improving the local landscape - Natural and cultural features of the interior" led by Ph.D. Ivone Orlić, Director of the Ethnographic Museum of Istria - Museo etnografico dell 'Istria.

A panel discussion on the topic "Tourist valorization of natural and cultural heritage through innovative projects" was held, moderated by Sanja Kantaruti, director of the Tourist Board of Central Istria.

Participants in this project event were representatives of regional self-government, representatives of local tourist boards, and stakeholders of the public and private sectors of the Istrian towns of Pazin, Buzet and Vodnjan, and the municipalities of Žminj and Svetvinčenat.

All participants agreed that with the synergy of private and public sector actors, this is a very good way to increase the potential of the destination, and would like to continue using the newly designed itinerary after the completion of the project implementation.
