Newsletter #1 is Online: Starting from the Voices of the Territories

The first AdriACTIVE newsletter is now available, marking the beginning of a shared journey towards more sustainable, active and experience-based tourism across the Adriatic area.
This first issue presents the launch phase of the project and highlights the importance of starting from the needs, expectations and voices of local territories. After the kick-off meeting held in Venice, the project is now moving into its first practical activities, with stakeholder needs mapping taking place across the pilot sites.
The newsletter offers a clear overview of the project’s vision: reducing pressure on overcrowded tourist hotspots, giving more visibility to lesser-known cultural and natural heritage, and creating stronger benefits for residents, visitors and local economies.
A key message emerging from this first edition is simple: before designing new tourism experiences, it is essential to listen. Local communities, businesses, public authorities, NGOs, experts and young people all have an important role in shaping tourism experiences that are attractive, accessible, sustainable and rooted in local identities.
Through co-design, cross-border cooperation and a shared focus on slow and community-led tourism, AdriACTIVE is laying the foundations for a new Adriatic tourism vision connecting Italy and Croatia.
