Tuesday, November 10, 2020 in the Educational and Gastronomic Center of Istria on Gortanov Brijeg in Pazin, workshop was organized by the Istrian Development Agency, as part of the INVESTINFISH project, a workshop on introducing innovations in the fishing and aquaculture sector and sustainable fisheries management in the northern Adriatic.

The project, co-financed by the Interreg Italy-Croatia cross-border cooperation program worth a total of HRK 11 million, will enable IDA to prepare investment studies for Istrian fishing and aquaculture companies that want to innovate in their operations and thus improve their competitiveness in the European market.

Eight Istrian entrepreneurs in the fisheries and aquaculture sector responded to the public call announced by IDA, and their business ideas will be shaped through project activities to the level of investment studies that will serve to further develop their business ideas.

IDA Director dr.sc. Boris Sabatti emphasized that this is a very important project that will improve the business of companies in the fisheries and aquaculture sector by introducing innovative "green and blue" technologies and processes that will result in accelerating their path to market and strengthening revenues in the sector. All entrepreneurial ideas received within this project are an opportunity to strengthen the blue economy in the Istrian County and diversify the future development of our economy, Sabatti added.

The end of the workshop was marked thematically by the culinary masterpieces of chef David Skoko, who prepared fish surprises on a plate for the participants; smoked mullets, marinated anchovies.... and finally, fresh Lim oysters from the only Istrian farm that still deals with this culture, that of the Istrida company in the Lim Bay.
