The INTESA Project Transnational Event will be held within the Conference & Expo “Driving the change in shipping & logistic: the EU funding opportunities in the programming period 2021-2027” organized inside SeaFuture2021, the well-established bi-annual international convention for maritime and dual use technologies, attended by 10.000 participants, with 200 exhibiting companies in the 9.000 sqm expo area,  tackling innovation and technology issues as the Blue Economy and the Integrated Maritime Policy of the European Commission.

Evangelia Piteni – Development & Technological Innovation Department, European Projects Unit - Southern Adriatic Sea Ports Authority – will present INTESA project in the “Supply Chain Digitalisation and Safety & Security in Transport Industry” session (h 12.00 am - 1.30 pm - Room 3).

The intervention titled Study and analysis of a new tide gauge network for Southern Adriatic Sea Port Authority - INTESA Project, will explain the INTESA Project overall aims concerning the creation of a network among the National Maritime Administrations of Italy and Croatia and main port authorities of the Adriatic sea (Venice, Trieste, Ravenna, Ancona, Bari, Rijeka, Ploce and Split) with the scope of harmonizing and optimizing the procedures of the complete maritime transport process in order to make port and maritime transport system more efficient and safe.

Furthermore the speech will deepen the development of the INTESA Pilot Action held in the Southern Adriatic Sea Ports Authority, focused on the innovation for the intangible infrastructures. The evolution of the Port Community System GAIA is planned to support the interoperability with the regional, national and global logistics systems. The pilot is specifically focused on the activation of the Single Administrative Desk and the extension to all the ports administered by the AdSP MAM of the services offered by the PCS GAIA already operating in the port of Bari.

The Pilot Action will include:

  • full extension of PCS to the ports of Brindisi and Manfredonia through hardware sizing of the server equipment present in the Bari port data center;
  • completion of the physical infrastructure of all the customs and Port Facilities gates on all the ports belonging to the relevant jurisdiction, conforming to the architecture developed in the port of Bari;
  • interoperability with other territorial information systems, such as those of Municipalities and Provinces / Metropolitan Cities, for the provision of services to passengers;
  • development of the Single Administrative Desk with the aim of simplifying and speeding up the administrative procedures resulting from the operators' requests for carrying out port operations.

With the implementation of these actions the development and safety of city-port link infrastructure will improve as well as the reception and transport services for passengers, with positive impacts on the competitiveness of economic activities.
