Project partners meet in Aquileia for the 4th Steering Committee and Project Meeting
18/03/2026
On 11 March 2026, the 4th Steering Committee and Project Meeting of the HANDY project took place at the Piccola Pinacoteca in Aquileia.
Hosted by the Municipality of Aquileia, the meeting brought together the project partners from Italy and Croatia for an important moment of coordination, exchange and joint planning. The event offered the opportunity to review the progress achieved so far, discuss the implementation of ongoing activities and align the next steps of the project.
During the meeting, partners shared updates on the activities carried out within the different project work packages, with particular attention to civil protection capacity-building actions, practical testing activities and the use of specialised equipment purchased through the project. The discussion also focused on the importance of strengthening operational cooperation among territories facing similar climate-related and hydrogeological risks.
The meeting represented a valuable occasion to assess the results of the activities already implemented, exchange lessons learned and identify common priorities for the upcoming project period. Partners also discussed communication and dissemination activities, in order to ensure that the project results are properly shared with local communities, stakeholders and institutions involved in risk prevention and emergency management.
The active participation of all partners confirmed the strong commitment of the HANDY partnership to improving preparedness, promoting knowledge exchange and reinforcing cross-border collaboration between Italy and Croatia.
By combining strategic coordination with practical cooperation, the 4th Steering Committee and Project Meeting marked another important step in the project’s shared path towards more resilient communities and more effective responses to climate and hydrogeological emergencies across the Adriatic area.
