A key moment of coordination
On September 30, 2025, the city of Pescara hosted the third Steering Committee and project meeting of HANDY, at the prestigious Aurum venue and organized by the Abruzzo Regional Civil Protection Agency, a key project partner.
The discussions
The event gathered all partners from Italy and Croatia to discuss the progress achieved so far and to plan the next steps. Participants reviewed the results of training activities, the state of play in the procurement of new equipment, and the main aspects of project management and communication. They also defined the upcoming deadlines, with a particular focus on the organization of theoretical and practical training sessions for civil protection operators and volunteers, aimed at ensuring the effective use of the newly acquired tools and equipment.
Looking ahead
The next Steering Committee will take place in Aquileia in March 2026, but in the meantime, partners will continue to work together to strengthen skills, deliver training activities, and prepare local operators and volunteers for more efficient emergency responses.
