Partners visited the construction site Regional teaching center for training operational forces of the firefighting system in Vučevica.

Meeting of representatives of partner organizations from Italy and Croatia, engaged in a joint project
strategic project FIRESPILL, was marked by an interesting discussion about current and upcoming ones project activities with an emphasis on the realization of infrastructure and pilot activities of each of an individual partner and a visit of all participants to Vučevica, where a unique in Europe is being built Educational regional center for training operational forces of the firefighting system. It's a meeting held on November 30 and December 1, 2022 at the Briig Hotel in Split, and organized by JU
RERA SD for coordination and development of the Split-Dalmatia County.
 
During the meeting, the extension of the project until June 2023 was officially confirmed so that everything planned project activities could be successfully implemented.
 
On the second day of the meeting, December 1, together with the members of the Platform of Croatian Counties and Cities for disaster risk reduction, representatives of the project partners visited the construction site of the regional center for training operational forces of the firefighting system in Vučevica, whose works nearing completion.
 
The center in Vučevica, co-financed from the FIRESPILL project, is a unique place from where the rescue operations on the ground will be coordinated, but also the staff will be educated and trained in in the area of protection against natural and other disasters.
 
Representatives of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County expressed their satisfaction with the fact that the works were done on the construction of the outpost of the Center for the Training of Civil Protection Operational Forces in Kula Norinska completed and invited all partners to its grand opening in December 2022. Namely, the mentioned facility was also built with funds from the FIRESPILL project and its purpose is also the same prevention of fire and other hazards in the area of the Neretva valley and its surroundings.
 
The FIRESPILL project is implemented within the cross-border cooperation program INTERREG Italy -
Croatia and which brings together 14 partners from two neighboring countries, including the Public Institution RERA S. D. for coordination and development of the Split-Dalmatia County. Estimated budget FIRESPILL project amounts to more than HRK 120 million, of which around HRK 65 million refers to activities in Split-Dalmatia County, mostly for the construction and equipping of the Teaching Regional center for training operational forces of the firefighting system in Vučevica. Contracted the value of the construction works is HRK 35,944,999.10 million excluding VAT (ie
44,931,248.88 with VAT).
