THE LARGEST TRAINING CENTER FOR FIREFIGHTERS IN THIS PART OF EUROPE IS TO BE BUILT IN VUČEVICA

Andrej Plenković, Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, has kickstarted the works on the largest training center for firefighters in this part of Europe, co-financed by grants within the 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐋𝐋 Project under the cross-border program #INTERREG Italy 🇮🇹 – Croatia 🇭🇷. As the building of the 1st phase began, namely pertaining to buildings A and D, as well as access roads, with the value of the works amounting to nearly 6 mil €.

Last summer season in Split Dalmatian County, there were more fires than in the fatal 2017, but quick detection and locating of fires makes it much easier to prevent them from spreading and causing damage. The synergy between the Croatian Army, firefighting services, civil protection, the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service and the police, i.e. the Ministry of the Interior, has contributed to the fact that for two years now, such fires have still been occurring, but without causing any major material damage or human casualties. I hope that this project will help benefit the safety not only of this area, but also of the entire Republic of Croatia.
