The municipality of Pescara (Comune di Pescara), partner of the E-CITIJENS project, hosted the third Project Meeting. The event was held in hybrid form and took place at the Aurum - La Fabbrica Delle Idee in Pescara.
One year ahead of the official closure of the project, the partners reviewed the progress of activities and decided how to keep it moving toward its successful accomplishment.
After a long time without meeting in person, this was an occasion for reuniting and networking. During the first part of the meeting, the Regione Molise took part with Adolfo Fabrizio Colagiovanni and Lorenzo Rossi presenting project management and coordination activities such as management, steering and monitoring as well as financial reporting. Adriatic Ionian Euroregion (PP) with Lisa Esposito presented communication activities including media relations, digital activities and events linked to the E-CITIJENS and Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna with Professor Giacomo Antonioni presenting the "social media based" model for a Civil Protection Emergency Management System.
In the second part of the meeting, Regione Molise - Servizio di Protezione Civile represented by Antonio Cardillo, supported by technical developers, presented the status quo and functioning of the #EDSS Platform with the aim of conveying the idea that social networks are data sources that, together with institutional ones and those from local sensors, can help identify emergency scenarios to be used by Civil Protection to organize the mobilization of human and material resources. Moreover, the platform processes social media alerts thanks to a taxonomy and an algorithm that assigns scores based on the level of risk.
The workshop saw the contribution of other partners involved in the activity, such as Protezione Civile Veneto, FGAG - Fakultet građevinarstva, arhitekture i geodezije u Splitu and Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna.
