The E-CITIJENS awareness raising campaign.

Another technical meeting of the Citizens Awareness Raising Campaign was held online on 17 March  2020.  The meeting saw the participation of all partners involved in the work group: the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion, partner in charge of communication, the Split and Dalmatia County, the Veneto Region, the Municipality of Pescara, the Zadar County Rural Development Agency (AGGRA) and the City of Dubrovnik. Partners discussed the progress of their joint work and the future steps that will lead to the accomplishment of the Campaign.

In particular, they programmed the implementation of a first round of Info Days and Work Cafés to take place between autumn 2020 and spring 2021, especially devoted to raising people’s awareness about the importance of a responsible use of social media. Targeting young generations is particularly relevant for the purposes of the E-CITIJENS project, as young people are the most active online and have been found to communicate risk mostly through social media networks.

The work group decided to reach out to young people throughout schools, where young people spend a lot of their time and that provide the best environment for acquiring new information about both safety and information accuracy, with a good likelihood that this information also reaches the broader community, possibly also beyond parents or caregivers.
