DIGitalisation of multimodal transport in the Adriatic SEA

START DATE

01.04.2022

END DATE

30.06.2023

TOTAL BUDGET

€ 599.430

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE

4.1 Improve the quality, safety and environmental sustainability of marine and coastal transport services and nodes by promoting multimodality in the Programme area

LEAD PARTNER

DIGSEA - Port Network Authority of The Eastern Adriatic Sea

TARGET GROUPS

  • General public
  • Local, regional and national public authorities
  • Regional development agencies
  • Enterprises, transport operators including operators of multimodal logistics hubs, infrastructure providers
  • Transport associations
  • Education and training organisations as well as universities and research institutes

The Interreg IT-HR 2014-2020 Programme developed several projects dealing with freight transport, four of them focusing on ICT applied to maritime and multimodal transport, from different perspectives.
PROMARES assessed the use of ICT solutions in the port-hinterland domain.
INTESA focused on the port-sea relation, with the goal of harmonizing and optimizing the procedures of the maritime transport processes.
DigLogs looked into improving information flows of transport processes on freight movements, status and authorizations.
TRANSPOGOOD developed an innovative ICT tool to find the best solution of transport services (e.g., best price of combined transport),
DIGSEA clusters the technical knowledge developed by these projects and consolidates it in a single sea-port-hinterland-logistics approach, covering the whole supply chain.
This way, the experiences and expertise of the current programming period will serve as a basis for the new one, ensuring their long-term sustainability and replicability.
Also, they will be transferred to stakeholders and policy makers at EU and transnational level, to engage them and raise the awareness of the use of ICT as a powerful and efficient tool to improve the efficiency and consequently the environmental performance of ports and the whole supply chain.
