CROSSCONNECT monthly online meeting
30/06/2025
The monthly CROSSCONNECT online meeting brought together project partners to review the latest developments and coordinate upcoming activities related to the pilot actions in Dubrovnik and Pula. The meeting confirmed that the implementation phase is well underway in both locations, with several key milestones already achieved and others expected in the coming weeks.
In Dubrovnik, the focus remains on integrating the port and airport through green transport and digital tools. The web application designed to optimise passenger flows between these two nodes is nearing completion and represents the first tool of its kind in the region. Additionally, Dubrovnik Airport has already deployed electric bicycles and an electric tractor to reduce emissions and improve internal transfers. The Dubrovnik Port Authority is preparing to roll out electric golf carts with trailers to facilitate cruise passenger movement across the 2-kilometre port operational area, especially benefitting elderly and mobility-impaired passengers.
In Pula, preparations for the new electric bus line connecting the port to the city centre, bus and train stations, and the hospital are in the final stages. The arrival of the electric bus is expected by end of July. Pulapromet is finalising the installation of smart totems, which will offer real-time travel information and ticketing options for multiple modes of transport. Meanwhile, the Pula Port Authority is continuing the implementation of environmental sustainability measures, including the installation of solar-powered waste containers and the upcoming deployment of charging stations for electric vessels.
The project team noted that the pilot actions in both cities are entering their final implementation phase. Partners shared visuals from the field, confirmed equipment deliveries, and discussed the communication timeline for promoting these achievements over the summer period.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to maintaining momentum and visibility as CROSSCONNECT moves closer to delivering a full set of innovative, replicable solutions for intermodal and sustainable coastal mobility. Further updates and documentation from the pilots will be shared in the coming weeks.
