UNICAM showed CREW’s lesson learnt at the online workshop of the TUNE UP project

On Thursday, May 20th, the UNICAM staff attended the online internal workshop organized within the project Interreg MED TUNE UP “Promoting multilevel governance for tuning up biodiversity protection in marine areas” by the Department of Architecture of University of Roma Tre in order to confront with the PPs of TUNE UP on development of Joint Methodology, such as the cross border strategy within the project CREW and so the implementation of wetland contracts.

During the day participants discussed on difficulties encountered in facing the issues concerning integrating the MPA Contract tool into the local regulatory framework, and in particular on the the strengths and weaknesses of the above mentioned processes. Therefore, UNICAM underlined some of problems met in the definition of the CREW cross border strategy, such as the lack of up-to-date scientific data and difficulties to involve stakeholders, due to for example in the case of private entities to find time/resources to participate.

As results, participants were questioned on how to overcome the main criticalities and so in the case of CREW what kinds of recommendations can be implemented.
