PROJECT PARTNERS 6TH (ONLINE) MEETING

Within the project CREW - Coordinated Management of Wetlands in the Cross-Border Region Italy-Croatia, funded by the cross-border program INTERREG Italy-Croatia, partners participated in the sixth partnership (video) meeting held on July 20, 2020 . years. Following the last meeting, which included activities related to work package 4, drafting and establishing contracts for wetland conservation, the topic of today's meeting included the establishment of a joint observatory for cross-border target areas of the project. One of the areas is the Neretva Delta, which is included in the Natura 2000 ecological network under the code HR5000031 Neretva Delta. Partner institutions from Croatia and Italy used joint considerations to discuss a methodology for developing a joint observatory that would be a set of scientific data that includes past and future research into the target areas of the CREW project. As a first step in defining the necessary parameters, a special manual will be developed that would define in detail the presentation of data on a common platform, taking into account the specifics of each target area. In addition to the Public Institution, the partners on the Croatian side are the Public Institutions for the Management of Protected Areas of Nature Natura Jadera and Natura Histrica, while on the Italian side, in addition to the leading partner is the University of Venice in San Benedetto Del Tronto, U.T.I. Riviera Bassa Friulana, Territorial Alliance for the Development of the Province of Nord Barese / Ofantino and the University of Camerino. The total value of this project is € 1,836,947.50, and the part planned for the implementation of the activities of the Public Institution is € 202,025.00. The project is co-financed with funds from the Interreg V-A Italy-Croatia program within the priority axis for the protection and restoration of biodiversity and lasts until May 30, 2021.
