The 2nd "Thursday CREATivE Talks" webinar, which was held on December 1, 2022 in the frame of the Interreg Italy-Croatia project - Climate RESponses for the AdriaTic rEgion (CREATE), was focused on the importance of adaptation planning for coastal areas, in relation to the impacts of climate change.

By highlighting the urgent need for adaptation amid an ongoing climate crisis, presenting the key steps for Coastal Plan preparation and sharing good coastal planning practice, the webinar has sparked a lot of interest among a wide range of more than 170 stakeholders from both countries and beyond.

Owing to the MedProgramme, which funded the simultaneous translation from Italian and Croatian to English, we were able to engage a global audience - from Canada and Brazil on the west, across Africa and the Mediterranean, to China and India on the east - in order to showcase the benefits of coastal plans based on the ICZM approach – as a way forward in dealing with the current and expected effects of climate change which affect us all.
