The port of Mola di Bari is object of a feasibility study for the production of energy from wave motion thorough the use of on-shore and off-shore technologies, selected among those being specifically developed for the Mediterranean environment.

Key stakeholders are, beside the Municipality, the Port Authority, the two technology developers and, prospectively, the local enterprises in the manufacturing sector.

These local activities carried out under the COASTENERGY project could be an opportunity to foster a future, actual implementation of the pilot project, with mutual benefits for all key stakeholders.
