Second stakeholder meeting of CHANGE WE CARE project dedicated to climate change issues affecting Vrana lake

The second CHANGE WE CARE workshop organized by Park prirode Vransko jezero on May 5th in Biograd na Moru was aimed at deepening the understanding of possible strategies for a sustainable management of Vrana Lake, with the particular focus on the water withdrawal for irrigation use.

The event was attended by agricultural producers  and by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Institute for the protection of the environment and nature and the Management for climate activities of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Zadar County, local administrators, scientific community and private sector. The discussion among the various stakeholders contributed to a better understanding of the many goods and services provided by the lake and provided information for the development of a Climate Change Adaptation Plan. During the second part of the event, a focus group was organized with the agricultural producers of the Natural Park area at the Municipality of Pakoštane with the aim at discussing possible adaptation measures to climate change and various possibilities of cooperation with the Natural Park of the Vrana Lake.
