The event was divided in three main sections.
The first one includes welcome greeting given by Mr. Branimir Urlić from IACKR and project overview given by project coordinator Mr. Simone Galeotti, who briefly introduced the ASTERIS objectives, the implemented activities, and the main achieved results.
The second section was focused on the project technical work packages. Gaia Galassi (UNIURB) was in charge of WP3 and Monika Zovko (UNIZG, supporting the IACKR) for WP4 and they addressed the results achieved so far. Mrs Galassi in the case of WP3 gave an explanation of the future scenarios of saline intrusion and the risks analysis of Adriatic shores by showing the maps that were produced from the data obtained in the project. Mrs. Zovko comprehensively explained the activities of sampling and analysis carried out in Neretva river area, showing the difference in terms of saline intrusion affection.
The last part (third) of the event gave place to MoST, another project financed by the IT-HR Programme, where partners of the project from University of Split (The Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy) gave a presentations on the activities also carried out in the Neretva river area. Mr. Veljko Srzić gave insight of laboratory and numerical modelling of the sea water intrusion, while Mr. Ivan Lovrinović showed which processes influence sea water intrusion in Neretva Valley aquifer system.
