START OF THE PILOT ACTION FOR THE SHARED MANAGEMENT OF FISH RESOURCES AND THE COASTAL STRIP OF THE NATURA2000 SITE "TORRE GUACETO AND MACCHIA S. GIOVANNI"

It will take place on April 15, 2022 at 11:00 at the Dentice di Frasso Castle, headquarters of the Management Consortium of Torre Guaceto, in Via Sant’Anna 6 in Carovigno (BR), the meeting to present the actions taken from the Puglia Region as part of the INTERREG Italy-Croatia ARGOS project and aimed at promoting the innovative governance of fish resources subject to professional fishing and of the Apulian coastal strip.
Among the interventions of the project, the one referred to in WP5 “Sectorial know-how development and pilot project implementation "provides for the implementation of pilot actions based on a sustainable management approach of fishing and aquaculture in the Adriatic.
Specifically, activity 5.2, called "Improvement of fishermen behaviors", involves the
Puglia Region in a pilot action aimed at identifying effective models to improve the stability of fish stocks, contribute to the protection of marine biodiversity and encourage the increase of the environmental sustainability of fishing activity. All this through the preparation of a fisheries co-management plan for the shared planning of activities in a Natura 2000 site on the Apulian coast.
