Lasting three days - from first to third July 2019 - the workshop "Scuola di Marineria e di Navigazione Tradizionale", or translated "Academy of Maritime Crafts and Skills", took place in the Cesenatico Maritime Museum (Cesenatico Museo della Marineria).
The theoretical/practical workshop was organized in collaboration of the Museum with the Humanities department of the University Ca'Foscari, Venice and lead by Mr Stefano Medas. The main topic was Maritime tradition in the Adriatic area. Lectures, visits to heritage sites, and even direct experience of ship navigation, as well as practical lectures taking place on ships were the tools utilized by the workshop organizers to spread knowledge on these valuable traditions. The workshop was a unique opportunity for the participants to get familiar with the world of maritime crafts and skills.
It's important to say also that participation was free of charge and open for everyone who filled out the application.
