Preparation, manufacture and installation of boat construction elements

For each part of the traditional shipbuilding workshop program, the mediators, in agreement with the shipbuilder and the workshop leader, prepared a more detailed plan for the implementation of the workshop, and acquainted the participants with the plan and program of each workshop before starting to work. At the end of each unit, an evaluation of what has been realized was carried out. The program of this workshop included:

•Introduction to the practical part of the traditional shipbuilding workshop, preparation of workspace and materials

•Production and installation of keel, and bow and stern stems, production of part of floor timber and frame; trial installation

•Completion of production and installation of floor timber and frame, centering of the boat and fixing of structural elements

•Preparation for manufacturing of longitudinal elements of the boat, on the example of sheer strake

•Production and installation of sheer strake

•Production and installation of longitudinal passages -twist stringers and under thwart
