The ADSWIM project on Abruzzo Economy Magazine in November.

Pescara, October 30. Thanks to Comune di Pescara, one of the Adswimproject partners, our work is presented on Abruzzo Economia, a prestigious bimonthly magazine that presents the excellency of the #Abruzzo region economy and finance sectors, dedicated to managers, professionals, companies and institutions. The Municipality is involved in development of local strategies to maintain, restore and improve the quality of #marineecosystems in the #AdriaticSea.

The AdSWiM administrative officers are focusing on implementing of conservation measures and monitoring of pilot actions for restoring of nutrient depleted marine areas in order to transform these actions into a joint Model used in local legal and governance context. With the partners, they are participating in the promotion of the cross-border development to encourage current #EUBlueEconomy policies. Joint communication, education programme and visits to depuration plant in Francavilla al Mare are activities that will be implemented in 2021. 

"The numerous project activities are structured into 3 types of interventions, which can be schematized into experimental activities, training activities, dissemination and consolidation of results and harmonization of wastewater management protocols, cross-border ", explains Dr. Sabina Susmel, researcher in analytical chemistry of the chemistry section of the Department of Environmental Agro-Food and Animal Sciences of the University of Udine as well as the AdSWiM project manager.

The AdSWiM project: managed use of treated urban wastewater for the quality of the Adriatic Sea is a biennial European cross-border cooperation project, coordinated by the University of Udine - Department of Environmental Agri-Food and Animals-Di4A Sciences and includes twelve partners between Italians and Croats who work to improve the quality of the sea by applying innovative technologies for monitoring, treatment and management of urban wastewater.
