The Zadar County Development Agency ZADRA NOVA is organizing the dissemination workshop “A More Climate-Resilient Adriatic – From Monitoring Changes to Local Solutions”, which will take place on 26 June 2026 in Zadar within the framework of the AdriaClimPlus project. 

The workshop is intended for representatives of public authorities, scientific and research institutions, experts, practitioners, and stakeholders interested in climate change adaptation and coastal resilience in the Adriatic region. 

Supporting climate resilience through knowledge and cooperation 

Climate change is increasingly affecting Adriatic coastal areas through sea-level rise, coastal erosion, extreme weather events, and changing environmental conditions. Strengthening resilience requires reliable climate information, effective planning tools, and cooperation between scientists, decision-makers, and local communities. 

The workshop will provide an opportunity to explore the latest developments in climate monitoring, adaptation planning, and the use of innovative tools supporting evidence-based decision-making. 

 

Programme highlights 

Participants will gain insights into: 

• climate change impacts and adaptation challenges in the Adriatic region; 

• monitoring systems and climate information services; 

• the use of satellite data and advanced climate tools; 

• green infrastructure and nature-based solutions; 

• local and regional adaptation planning approaches. 

A central part of the programme will be a panel discussion focusing on the role of science, public policies, nature-based solutions, and practical experiences in strengthening the resilience of coastal communities. 

Special attention will be given to the tools, methodologies, and key achievements developed through the AdriaClimPlus project, including climate data services and information systems designed to support decision-making and climate adaptation planning.
