Sixth technical meeting in Brindisi engages municipalities on climate planning and citizen participation
30/03/2026
On 23 March 2026, the AdriaClimPlus project brought together local authorities and experts in Brindisi for its sixth technical meeting, hosted by the Puglia Region.
The meeting provided an opportunity for participants to exchange knowledge and experiences, with a particular focus on citizen engagement and the integration of energy efficiency into local climate planning.
Through this ongoing engagement, the project aims to enhance the practical application of its tools, supporting municipalities in improving and implementing climate adaptation and mitigation strategies.
Exchange of experiences among local administrations
The meeting brought together local administrators and technical experts from the municipalities of Brindisi, Grottaglie and Francavilla Fontana.
Participants shared best practices and approaches for citizen engagement in the development and implementation of SECAPs. The discussion also addressed key challenges faced by local administrations, particularly in relation to sustainable mobility, transport systems, and energy efficiency, highlighting their crucial role within broader climate planning strategies.
Climate data and tools supporting local planning
During the session, participants were introduced to the latest developments and results of the AdriaClimPlus project, with a focus on the tools designed to support local climate planning, such as the Geoportal.
A demonstration of the Geoportal was provided, showcasing its functionalities and potential applications. A dedicated session will be organised in the coming months to explore the tool in greater depth and to further support municipalities in integrating it into their local climate planning processes.
