Educational boat ride in Vrana Lake

On the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity 2025, Public Institution Nature Park Vrana Lake organized an educational boat ride for the local community.
The topic of the educational ride was the impact of climate change on the freshwater ecosystem of Vrana Lake, and participants were able to learn more about why the lake water is turbid and how it affects other living organisms in the lake.
They were also able to learn more about the activities that the Public Institution is undertaking, as part of the ACTION project funded by the Interreg Italy-Croatia program, with the aim of improving the state of the ecosystem.
As part of the project, a Habitat Restoration Plan will be developed in the Natura 2000 site Vransko jezero i Jasen, this improving the ecosystem services that wetland habitats provide us: water purification, a source of food (pastures), carbon storage, recreation and inspiration, and many others.
