The Po Delta Park Highlights ACTION Project

27/05/2025

On April, 2025, the Po Delta Park, a proud partner of the Interreg Italy-Croatia ACTION project, hosted the event "Soluzioni Naturali" ("Natural Solutions") at the Sala degli Aceti in the historic Manifattura dei Marinati, Comacchio (Ferrara). The event gathered institutions, researchers, and project partners to present innovative strategies and collaborative efforts focused on nature-based solutions in coastal and riverine areas.

The event, introduced by the Director of the Po Delta Park, Massimiliano Costa, offered a platform to showcase various regional and international projects promoting sustainable environmental management. Among these was the Interreg Italy-Croatia ACTION project, presented by Stefano Ravaioli from the Municipality of Ravenna.

The ACTION project was featured as a key example of cross-border collaboration aimed at enhancing climate resilience through nature-based solutions. During his presentation, Stefano Ravaioli illustrated the project's objectives and activities, emphasizing the role of ecosystems in mitigating the effects of climate change along the Adriatic coast. The discussion highlighted how the ACTION project supports local authorities in adopting sustainable coastal management practices by integrating scientific knowledge and stakeholder engagement.

Concluding with an open debate involving associations and technical experts, the event reaffirmed the importance of cooperation and local engagement in addressing environmental challenges.

The participation of the Po Delta Park in organizing and leading this event exemplifies the park’s active role within the ACTION consortium and its broader mission to protect and enhance the natural heritage of the Po Delta region through transnational collaboration.
