🐙 BRAVE at the Ancona Sea Festival: Research, Outreach and Participation for the Protection of Marine Resources

During the Ancona Sea Festival, held on 5-7 September 2026, the BRAVE project showcased to the public its regional pilot actions focused on the research and experimental study of the common cuttlefish (Sepia officinalis) which are currently being implemented by Marche Region with scientific expertise of the Department of Life and Environmental Sciences of the Polytechnic University of Marche is carrying out.
The participation in the local Festival provided an important opportunity for dialogue between researchers, institutions, and citizens, fostering the dissemination of scientific knowledge and raising awareness among civil society about the sustainable use of marine resources and the protection of Adriatic biodiversity promoted by the project.
Through direct engagement with visitors, families, and fisheries stakeholders, BRAVE helped increase awareness of the value of applied research and the role of pilot actions in supporting more sustainable fisheries management and healthier marine ecosystems.
As part of the BRAVE Citizen Engagement Campaign, the initiative highlighted the importance of involving local communities in understanding and safeguarding marine resources, encouraging active participation in addressing the environmental challenges facing the Adriatic Sea.
