SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE

3.1: Make natural and cultural heritage a leverage for sustainable and more balanced territorial development


Creation of the new urban attractors it is possible to enhance the dismissed and archaeological ports’ areas, reducing the touristic pressure along with the coastal areas in a specific period of the year, and favoring the redistribution of visitors and population, and the extension of touristic seasonality by promotion and improvement of accessibilities and by involving a target groups in actions.

TEMPUS project aims to bring out a successful practicing joint methodology based on the startup of Temporary Uses Actions as trigger actions for a wider scale Cultural Resources Valorization and Regeneration Processes of urban ports heritage implemented thanks to a community-led strategic design. Further on, a tool-kit for a spreading a new HD entrepreneurial couture will be developed and finally, the TEMPUS web platform for supports to CBC actions will be set and launch as open-source supporting the rebranding of the touristic-percieved identity of TEMPUS cities, and the implementation of the joint visibility and promotional strategy aims at maximizing positive spillovers through a redistribution of touristic fluxes as well as their overall increase.

TEMPUS will enhance the heritage of urban ports by adopting a common approach and at the same time by strengthening the peculiarities of different locations between the two coasts of the Adriatic Sea. To this extent, TEMPUS will build a community of practice devoted to heritage-driven sustainable development and to the creation of joint visibility and valorization frameworks, and will display site-to-site on-field pop-up exhibitions allowing visitors to gain knowledge and awareness about local port heritage, and about the close relations connecting the Adriatic port cities. Finally, an ad-hoc ICT environment will be developed, aimed at supporting the TEMPUS community, at offering structured and evocative virtual touristic itineraries meeting also the needs of disadvantaged visitors, and at gathering scientific and people-sourced port CH contents.

This video shows an example of an easily replicable experience of active involvement of the CCIs in the valorization of a cultural asset. 
TEMPUS Temporary uses actions present action and works on the old containers to form the backstage of the open-air art gallery that will serve simultaneously as a stand-alone installation and as a backdrop for the realization of other activities.
The transformation of the stage flows through various scenes based on the main fluxes from the past to nowadays in this area.

The video shows an example of temporary use, the temporary stage set for the city and citizens, aiming to restore visibility and bring attention to areas to be revitalized. 
Carefully defined goals and well-planned steps the abandoned area transformed into a scenography and stage, with the support of CCIs and Research Centers.
